Are you an experienced HR Driver looking for a stable temp-to-perm opportunity within the public sector? We are seeking a reliable Civil Field Worker to join a dedicated Civil Operations team starting 13 January. This role offers a competitive pay rate of $44.19 per hour and provides a fantastic balance between operating heavy plant and engaging in essential "on the ground" civil construction work.
In this position, you will play a key role within a civil works team to deliver efficient maintenance and construction services. Your primary responsibility will be driving and operating rigid motor vehicles exceeding 11 tonne GVM, including water trucks and tipper bodies. When not behind the wheel, you will be an active member of the field crew, assisting with various labouring tasks associated with concreting, kerb and channeling, stormwater drainage, and the maintenance of roadside assets, bridges, and foreshores.
Vehicle Operation: Safely load and drive trucks while maintaining a high awareness of road rules and load restraint regulations.
Civil Maintenance: Perform general construction and labouring tasks, including the removal and disposal of debris.
Plant Care: Ensure all assigned plant and machinery is kept in a safe, clean, and serviceable condition.
Community Support: Participate in after-hours duty rosters and provide assistance during emergencies such as floods or bushfires.
Safety & Teamwork: Adhere to all WH&S obligations, follow safe working procedures, and work effectively as part of a high-performing team.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
Current HR Driver’s Licence.
Construction Induction (White Card): Possession of a WH&S Competency Card (CPCCOHS1001A or 30215QLD).
Technical Experience: Proven ability to operate and undertake general maintenance of civil construction plant and machinery.
Physical Fitness: The agility and strength to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting, bending, and climbing.
Communication: Strong problem-solving and communication skills to complete tasks within set timeframes.
Desirable qualifications include a Traffic Controller's Licence and Electrical Awareness training.
